CRHR2

Corticotropin-releasing hormone receptor 2 (CRHR2), also known as CRF2 or CRHR-2, is a G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) in the CRH receptor family. It binds urocortins (UCN1-UCN3) preferentially over CRH, activating downstream pathways like cAMP/PKA (via Gs) and MAPK (via Gi/o) to regulate stress adaptation, metabolic homeostasis, and cardiovascular function.
Dysregulation of CRHR2 links to mood disorders (depression, anxiety), metabolic syndrome, and hypertension. Therapeutic efforts include selective agonists (e.g., UCN2 derivatives) for anxiety and insulin resistance, and antagonists for chronic stress. Preclinical studies show promise in reducing stress behaviors and improving glucose metabolism, though clinical trials remain in early stages.

Immunofluorescence staining of Hela cell with CSB-PA623797LA01HU at 1:30, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).
