DPP3

DPP3 (Dipeptidyl Peptidase 3) is a zinc - dependent aminopeptidase. It is also known as DPP - III. Functionally, DPP3 cleaves dipeptides from the N - terminus of oligopeptides, playing a key role in peptide metabolism. It is involved in the renin - angiotensin system, which regulates blood pressure.
DPP3 has been linked to various diseases such as hypertension and cancer. In hypertension, it might affect blood pressure through the angiotensin - related pathway. As for drug development, there is growing interest in developing DPP3 inhibitors as potential therapeutic agents for these associated diseases, though research is still in progress.
