FBL, which is a protein tyrosine phosphatase encoded by the FBL gene.FBL is expressed in a variety of cell types, including immune cells and tumour cells. Mechanism of action, FBL is involved in the regulation of immune signalling and cell cycle control through dephosphorylation, especially in the T-cell receptor signalling pathway, where it enhances signalling by dephosphorylating negative regulators.FBL has an important role in the maintenance of immune homeostasis, the promotion of cell proliferation and the inhibition of apoptosis. In addition, aberrant expression of FBL is associated with the development of certain autoimmune diseases and cancer.
