GAGE7 (G antigen family member 7), a cancer-testis antigen (CTA) also known as CT6.3, is predominantly expressed in testicular germ cells and aberrantly upregulated in multiple malignancies. It modulates cell proliferation and apoptosis by participating in cell cycle progression and anti-apoptotic signaling pathways, potentially via epigenetic regulation or interactions with growth factor downstream effectors.
Aberrant GAGE7 expression correlates with poor prognosis in melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer, and breast cancer. As a promising immunotherapeutic target, preclinical studies explore peptide vaccines encoding its epitopes, while early-phase trials evaluate their efficacy in eliciting tumor-specific T cell responses against GAGE7-positive tumors.
