HMCN1

HMCN1, full name hemicentin 1, also known as hyalin membrane protein 1. It is an extracellular glycoprotein regulating tissue structure, cell adhesion and signaling in retina, kidney and blood vessels. HMCN1 mutations cause hereditary retinal and renal diseases, and its dysregulation correlates with cancers. HMCN1-targeted modulators are in early preclinical research.
