KCNN4

KCNN4 corresponds to the protein potassium intermediate/small conductance calcium-activated channel subfamily N member 4. It is also commonly known as SK4 or IK1. This protein functions as a calcium-activated potassium channel, which plays a crucial role in regulating cell membrane potential. It is involved in the calcium signaling pathway and participates in processes such as cell proliferation and immune cell activation.
Dysregulation of KCNN4 has been associated with several diseases, including hypertension and certain types of cancer. In drug development, targeting KCNN4 has shown potential as a therapeutic strategy.
