Kallikrein‑related peptidase 15, also known as ACO, HSRNASPH, is a secreted serine protease distributed in testis, colon and connective tissues. It participates in spermatogenesis and extracellular‑matrix remodeling via proteolytic modification of matrix proteins such as fibronectin.
Elevated KLK15 correlates with patient survival outcome in prostate cancer and ovarian cancer, and its functional abnormality is associated with hypermobile Ehlers‑Danlos syndrome, serving as a clinical specimen biomarker. Drug development for KLK15 is confined to pre‑clinical sample analysis and cellular assays. No lead compounds undergo animal efficacy evaluation, no clinical trials are launched and no corresponding marketed therapeutics exist.
