LTBP4

LTBP4, also known as latent-transforming growth factor beta-binding protein 4, is a crucial protein. It is also commonly referred to as LTBP-4. LTBP4 plays a key role in regulating the bioavailability of transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) by sequestering it in the extracellular matrix. It is involved in the TGF-β signaling pathway, which is vital for cell growth, differentiation, and tissue repair.
Mutations in the LTBP4 gene are associated with various diseases, such as cutis laxa and congenital heart diseases.
