MEN1, or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1, is a transcription factor encoded by the MEN1 gene and part of the nuclear receptor superfamily. It modulates the transcription of genes involved in cell cycle regulation, DNA repair, and hormone synthesis. MEN1 is essential for endocrine gland function and cell proliferation, with its mutations or loss of function associated with multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1, an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by endocrine gland tumors.
