MIA2

The protein encoded by MIA2, also known as melanoma inhibitory activity protein 2, belongs to the MIA/OTOR family. It functions as a secreted protein involved in regulating cell adhesion and migration through interactions with extracellular matrix components like fibronectin and integrins. MIA2 participates in signaling pathways such as the MAPK and TGF-β pathways, modulating processes like epithelial-mesenchymal transition.
Aberrant MIA2 expression has been linked to several cancers, including colorectal and pancreatic cancer, where it may promote tumor invasion and metastasis. Current research focuses on its potential as a diagnostic biomarker, though specific therapeutic agents targeting MIA2 are still in preclinical development stages.

IHC image of CSB-PA822278LA01HU diluted at 1:300 and staining in paraffin-embedded human pancreatic cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
