OLA1

OLA1 (Obg-like ATPase 1), also known as p47 or GTP-binding protein 1, is a conserved ATP/GTPase in the Obg superfamily. It regulates protein translation, cell proliferation, and stress adaptation by interacting with ribosomal subunits and fine-tuning MAPK signaling cascades.
Dysregulated OLA1 expression links to breast and lung cancers—elevated levels drive tumor progression via promoting epithelial-mesenchymal transition and invasion, correlating with poor prognosis. Preclinical studies are exploring small-molecule inhibitors targeting its nucleotide-binding domain to suppress tumor growth in vitro and in vivo models.
