PRMT3

PRMT3, a member of the protein arginine methyltransferase family, is an enzyme guided by the human genome. The main mechanism of action of PRMT3 is to catalyze the transfer of methyl groups from S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) to protein arginine residues, forming monomethylation (MMA) and asymmetric dimethylation (ADMA) modifications. This methylation modification can regulate the functions of various proteins, including transcription factors, ribosomal proteins, and signal transduction molecules. PRMT3 is involved in regulating important biological processes such as cell growth, proliferation, differentiation, and gene expression. Abnormal PRMT3 expression or activity is closely related to the occurrence and development of tumor, type 2 diabetes and other diseases. PRMT3 controls many important cellular biological processes through arginine methylation modification of corresponding substrates.
