RIPK2

RIPK2, receptor-interacting protein kinase 2, alias Receptor-Interacting Serine/Threonine-Protein Kinase 2, CARD-Containing IL-1 Beta ICE-Kinase, Receptor-Interacting Protein 2, Tyrosine-Protein Kinase RIPK2 and others. It is a bispecific kinase widely expressed in human tissues, mainly in the cytoplasm, and its mRNA levels are highly expressed in spleen, leukocytes, placenta, testis, and heart.The mechanism of action of RIPK2 involves interactions with the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) and participation in the Toll-like receptor (TLR) and nucleotide-binding oligomerization structural domain (NOD) signaling pathways. It plays a key role in apoptosis, programmed cell necrosis, and inflammatory signaling pathways, and is an important connector molecule for innate immunity, adaptive immunity, and apoptosis.Abnormal function of RIPK2 has been associated with a wide range of diseases, including inflammatory diseases, autoimmune disorders, and tumors.

RIPK2 has a wide range of biological significance, which is not only involved in the cell survival, death, and inflammatory response, but also with disease treatment. Inhibitors of RIPK2 are important in inflammatory responses, autoimmune diseases and tumors, and are pharmacologically considered a promising therapeutic strategy.
