RPS14

RPS14, or ribosomal protein S14, alias S14, EMTB, etc.. It is a ribosomal protein that is widely expressed in a variety of human tissues and is encoded by its own gene in human cells.RPS14 is part of the 40S ribosomal subunit and is involved in protein biosynthesis processes. Its mechanism of action involves synergizing with ribosomal RNA and other ribosomal proteins to promote peptide chain elongation and is part of a key link in protein synthesis.

The biological significance of RPS14 is reflected in its contribution to cell growth, proliferation, and coping with stress responses.The expression level of RPS14 is altered in certain disease states, for example, during hepatic regeneration, where the expression of RPS14 may be be closely associated with hepatocyte proliferation. In addition, RPS14 may be involved in the regulation of cell cycle and apoptosis. In tumor biology, RPS14 has been found to be overexpressed in tumors such as gliomas and may promote tumor cell proliferation and migration and inhibit apoptosis through the p53 signaling pathway, suggesting that RPS14 may serve as a new potential therapeutic target.
