RXRA

RXRA, also known as retinoid X receptor α, has alternative names including NR2B1, RXR alpha1, Rxra, and RXRalpha1. RXRA is a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily and acts as a ligand-dependent transcription factor. When bound to ligands such as 9-cis-retinoic acid, RXRA forms homodimers or heterodimers with other nuclear receptors, binding to specific sequences in the promoter regions of target genes to regulate gene expression. RXRA plays a role in regulating physiological processes such as human growth, differentiation, metabolism, immunity, and death. Abnormal expression or function of RXRA is associated with many diseases, including tumor development. RXRA is also an important target for drug development, particularly in exploring new mechanisms by which nuclear receptor RXRα regulates the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.
