SFPQ

SFPQ, also known as splicing factor, proline - and glutamine - rich, is a protein with multiple vital cellular functions. It is also called PSF (PTB - associated splicing factor). SFPQ participates in many biological processes, including pre - mRNA splicing. It binds to specific RNA sequences and influences splice site selection.
This protein is involved in the DNA damage response pathway and interacts with other proteins to maintain genomic stability. Dysregulation of SFPQ has been linked to neurodegenerative diseases and some types of cancer. Currently, research is exploring SFPQ as a potential therapeutic target, but drug development targeting this protein is still in the early stages.
