SIGLEC6

SIGLEC6, also known as sialic acid-binding Ig-like lectin 6, is a transmembrane protein expressed on various immune cells. It functions as an inhibitory receptor, mediating immune regulation through its interaction with sialylated glycans. SIGLEC6 is involved in immune suppression and plays a role in allergic diseases and cancer. The protein interacts with multiple signaling pathways, including those involving ITIM and ITSM motifs. SIGLEC6 is associated with diseases such as allergic diseases and gestational trophoblastic disease. In terms of drug development, monoclonal antibodies targeting SIGLEC6 are being investigated for their potential in modulating immune responses and treating related disorders.
