SIRT7

SIRT7 is a protein encoded by the SIRT7 gene. Also known as Sirtuin 7, it belongs to the sirtuin family of proteins. SIRT7 is mainly located in the nucleolus and has deacetylase activity. It participates in various cellular processes such as gene transcription regulation and ribosome synthesis. It is involved in the p53 signaling pathway.
Aberrant expression of SIRT7 is associated with multiple diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. In cancer, it can act as an oncogene or tumor suppressor depending on the context. Currently, research on drugs targeting SIRT7 is in progress, aiming to develop new therapeutic strategies for related diseases.
