SLC13A5

SLC13A5 encodes the sodium-coupled citrate transporter 2 (NaCT2), also known as NaDC3. This protein plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by transporting citrate across the cell membrane. It functions as an electrogenic sodium/citrate symporter. The SLC13A5 is involved in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle and fatty acid synthesis pathways.
Mutations in the SLC13A5 gene have been linked to early infantile epileptic encephalopathy - 39 (EIEE39), a severe neurological disorder. Currently, research on drugs targeting SLC13A5 is in progress, aiming to develop therapies for EIEE39 and related metabolic diseases.

IHC image of CSB-PA768239LA01HU diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human prostate cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a Goat anti-rabbit polymer IgG labeled by HRP and visualized using 0.05% DAB. Secondary antibody only control: uses 1% BSA instead of primary antibody.
