SNX32

SNX32 (Sorting Nexin 32) is a member of the sorting nexin family, characterized by a phox homology (PX) domain. It mediates intracellular vesicle trafficking, regulating the sorting and recycling of membrane proteins from endosomes to the plasma membrane or lysosomes via PX domain-lipid interactions, which anchor it to endosomal membranes.
SNX32 modulates epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling by controlling EGFR endocytosis and degradation, influencing cell proliferation and survival. Dysregulation may contribute to cancer progression, though clinical associations are still under investigation. Currently, no targeted drugs against SNX32 are in clinical development, but its role in membrane trafficking makes it a potential candidate for future therapeutic strategies.
