SREBF2

SREBF2, a key transcription factor located on the endoplasmic reticulum, regulates genes essential for cholesterol metabolism by sensing changes in cholesterol levels. When cholesterol levels are low, SREBF2 is activated and moves to the nucleus to bind with the sterol regulatory element (SRE), initiating the transcription of genes like LDLR and HMGCR, which are vital for cholesterol synthesis and uptake. This protein plays a crucial role in maintaining cholesterol balance, which is important for cellular function and overall health. Any disruption in SREBF2's expression or activity can lead to metabolic disorders such as atherosclerosis and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded human placenta tissue using CSB-PA666241LA01HU at dilution of 1:100

Immunofluorescence staining of Hela cells with CSB-PA666241LA01HU at 1:66, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).
