SRSF10

SRSF10 is a key component of the SR protein family, which includes mammalian splicing regulators. This protein features an RNA binding domain and a distinctive RS domain that mediates protein-protein interactions. Its activity is modulated by phosphorylation, a process influenced by events such as cell division, heat stress, and DNA damage response. SRSF10 influences metabolic pathways involving glucose, fat, and cholesterol, as well as developmental processes in the embryonic heart and nervous system through the regulation of alternative splicing. It is also critical for the proper expression and processing of transcripts from HIV-1 and other viruses. Given its involvement in stress responses, organogenesis, and viral replication, SRSF10 emerges as a promising target for therapeutic interventions in cancer and viral diseases.
