THSD4

THSD4 encodes thrombospondin type-1 domain-containing protein 4, also known as KIAA1036. This protein contains thrombospondin type-1 repeats, which are associated with cell adhesion, migration and proliferation. It is involved in the modulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) assembly, potentially influencing cell - ECM interactions.
THSD4 may participate in signaling pathways related to angiogenesis and tissue remodeling. Abnormal expression of THSD4 has been linked to certain cancers and cardiovascular diseases. At present, research on drugs targeting THSD4 is still in the early stages, with a focus on understanding its function as a potential therapeutic target.
