Beta-tubulin (encoded by TUBB) is a core microtubule component, also called tubulin beta chain. It polymerizes with alpha-tubulin to form dynamic cytoskeletal structures, regulating cell division, intracellular transport, and motility. It interacts with kinesins/dyneins to modulate MAPK and PI3K/Akt pathways.
Abnormal TUBB expression/mutations link to cancers (breast, lung) and neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s. Taxanes (paclitaxel) target it to stabilize microtubules, inhibiting mitosis—key chemotherapeutics. Ongoing studies aim for selective tubulin inhibitors to minimize off-target effects.
The following TUB reagents supplied by CUSABIO are manufactured under a strict quality control system. Multiple applications have been validated and solid technical support is offered.
