YTHDC1

The protein encoded by YTHDC1 is YTH domain-containing protein 1, commonly referred to as YTHDC1. It belongs to the YTH domain family and primarily functions as an RNA-binding protein that recognizes and binds to N6-methyladenosine (m⁶A)-modified RNA transcripts, regulating RNA splicing, export, and stability.
YTHDC1 participates in multiple signaling pathways including the mRNA processing and epigenetic regulation pathways. Dysregulation of YTHDC1 is associated with various cancers such as breast and lung cancer, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders. Currently, no specific drugs targeting YTHDC1 are approved, but preclinical studies are exploring its potential as a therapeutic target in oncology.
