AOC3 aldehyde oxidase 3 is an enzyme belonging to the aldehyde oxidase family, whose core structure contains a key flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) cofactor that catalyzes the oxidation reaction of aldehydes. Although AOC3 does not directly participate in specific signaling pathways, it indirectly affects physiological processes such as intracellular redox balance, cell proliferation, and apoptosis by catalyzing the conversion of aldehydes into carboxylic acids. The main function of AOC3 is to reduce the biological activity and toxicity of aldehydes and protect organisms from potential harm. In addition, AOC3 also participates in drug metabolism and detoxification processes, which plays an important role in reducing drug toxicity and side effects.
