ART1

ART1, also known as ADP - ribosyltransferase 1, is a protein with several aliases like ART1a and ADP - ribosyltransferase ARTC1. It plays a key role in the post - translational modification of proteins through ADP - ribosylation. This modification can alter the function of target proteins. It is involved in the regulation of immune responses and cell signaling pathways, including the T - cell activation pathway.
Dysregulation of ART1 has been associated with autoimmune diseases and certain types of cancers. In terms of drug development, research is underway to design inhibitors that can specifically target ART1 to modulate its activity, aiming to develop new therapeutic strategies for related diseases.
