CCN4

CCN4, also known as Wnt-induced secreted protein-1 (WISP-1), is a member of the CCN family of proteins. This protein plays a crucial role in cell adhesion, proliferation, and survival. It functions through binding to integrins and other cell surface receptors, activating downstream signaling pathways such as the MAPK and PI3K - AKT pathways.
CCN4 is associated with various diseases, including cancer and fibrosis. In cancer, it promotes tumor growth and metastasis. Regarding drug development, efforts are underway to target CCN4 to block its functions, aiming at developing novel therapies for these related diseases. Although challenges remain, progress in this area holds promise for future treatment strategies.
