CIDEC

CIDEC is a protein initially extracted from mouse adipocytes and later identified in a variety of cells, including those in the human liver and adipose tissue. This DFF45-like effector factor triggers cell death and is found on the surface of lipid droplets, where it facilitates lipid transfer from smaller to larger droplets by creating unique pore/channel structures.
