CNTN4

CNTN4, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, is prominently expressed in critical brain areas including the olfactory bulb, thalamic nucleus, cerebral cortex, and hippocampus, regions that are central to neurological and psychiatric disorders. As an axon guidance molecule, CNTN4 is essential for the development of olfactory and visual systems, as well as for establishing axonal connections and supporting neural circuits within the nervous system. Its dysregulation is associated with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism spectrum disorder and 3p deficiency syndrome. Additionally, these findings underscore the significance of CNTN4 in the tumor microenvironment and its potential role in cancer immunotherapy.
