CTAG2

CTAG2, also known as cancer/testis antigen 2, is a protein primarily expressed in the testis and often reactivated in various cancers. It plays a role in promoting tumor invasion and metastasis by interacting with centrosomal protein Pericentrin, which is crucial for directional migration. CTAG2 is involved in several signaling pathways, including the cell cycle and DNA replication, contributing to tumor progression. Its expression is associated with poor prognosis in hepatocellular carcinoma and breast cancer. Research on CTAG2 has led to its identification as a potential therapeutic target, with ongoing drug development efforts focusing on inhibiting its function to treat cancer.
