DDX5

DDX5, or DEAD box helicase 5, is an ATP-dependent RNA helicase and a member of the DEAD box helicase family, predominantly located in the nucleus. It catalyzes the unwinding of double-stranded RNA and is involved in the regulation of gene transcription and the synthesis, splicing, and processing of mRNA, rRNA, and miRNA. DDX5 activates various transcription factors, influencing cell proliferation, differentiation, cytoskeletal remodeling, and apoptosis. It also plays a role in tumor cell occurrence, invasion, and migration, affecting tumor-related signaling pathways. DDX5's functional deletion can lead to the up-regulation of RYBP in the non-classical PRC1 complex by affecting microRNA 125b levels, impacting somatic reprogramming.
