FOXC1

FOXC1, full name forkhead box C1. It is a nuclear transcription factor regulating embryonic development, organ formation, cell proliferation and angiogenesis, maintaining bone and eye development. FOXC1 mutations cause hereditary eye and bone disorders. Its abnormal overexpression promotes tumor angiogenesis and metastasis in multiple cancers. FOXC1 inhibitors are under preclinical research.
