GCC1

GCC1, or GCC1P/GCC88, is a protein with GRIP and curled domains. It is widely distributed in the body, particularly in the testes and bone marrow. This peripheral membrane protein, sensitive to BrefeldinA, features a GRIP domain that is pivotal for targeting. GCC1 likely contributes to the management of specialized sub-compartments within the Golgi network that are crucial for the transport of membrane materials. This protein is also significant for directing proteins to their correct cellular locations and is involved in several key cellular activities, such as the synthesis, modification, and secretion of proteins.
