GPR55

GPR55, G protein-coupled receptor 55, also known as LPI1, GPR55, PSIGPR53, is encoded by the human GPR55 gene, which is located on chromosome 2 in the q37.1 region.
GPR55 is a G protein-coupled receptor that may be involved in a variety of physiological and pathological processes through the activation of multiple signal transduction pathways. The ligands it activates include phytocannabinoids, endogenous cannabinoids, and lysophosphatidylinositol (LPI).
GPR55 has been associated with physiological functions such as mood, locomotion, cognition, learning, and memory, as well as with cannabinoid action and substance abuse. GPR55 may also be a new potential drug target for the treatment of inflammation, pain, diabetes, Parkinson's disease, neuropathic pain, and cancer. Studies have shown that GPR55 plays a role in modulating anxiety-like behavior, hippocampal neurogenesis, and neuroprotection.

Validated Data

IHC image of CSB-PA009820OA01HU diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human prostate tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
