GRM2, metabotropic glutamate receptor 2, alias GPRC1B, mGlu2, MGLUR2 and so on. It is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that is mainly expressed on neurons and muscle cells. The mechanism of action of GRM2 is to activate intracellular signaling pathways and affect intracellular physiological processes by binding to specific ligands. Ligand binding leads to a conformational change in GRM2, which in turn triggers signaling through guanylate-binding proteins (G proteins) and regulates the activity of downstream effectors, such as adenylyl cyclase.Signaling by GRM2 inhibits adenylyl cyclase activity, which may be involved in regulating the inhibition of neural conduction or be associated with synaptic formation and synaptic stabilization.
GRM2 is biologically very important in that it not only plays a key role in the nervous system, regulating synaptic transmission and hippocampal function, but is also involved in a variety of neuropathological states, including neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders.GRM2 expression is particularly high in adult hippocampal dentate granule cells, and is critical for the development and functional integration of nascent dentate granule cells in the adult hippocampus. In addition, GRM2 affects neuronal development by regulating the phosphorylation and activation state of the MEK/ERK1/2 signaling pathway.Abnormal function of GRM2 has been associated with the development of a variety of brain disorders, making it an important target for drug development and neuroscience research.

Immunofluorescence staining of HepG2 cells with CSB-PA621775LA01HU at 1:66, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).
