HNRNPH1

Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein H1 (HNRNPH1), commonly called hnRNP H1, is a key member of the hnRNP family. It binds to pre-mRNA to regulate alternative splicing, RNA stability, and intracellular trafficking, thus controlling gene expression programs critical for cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival.
Dysregulation of HNRNPH1 links to cancers (lung, breast, colorectal) via aberrant splicing of oncogenes/tumor suppressors, and neurodevelopmental disorders like fragile X syndrome. Preclinical studies are testing small-molecule inhibitors targeting its RNA-binding domain to disrupt pathogenic functions, though no clinical therapies are available yet.
