IDUA

IDUA (Iduronidase) is a lysosomal enzyme belonging to the glycoside hydrolase family, with a complex structure encompassing multiple catalytic sites and substrate-binding sites. It can recognize and decompose iduronate-2-sulfate, a crucial step in mucopolysaccharide metabolism. The primary function of IDUA is to catalyze the hydrolysis of iduronate-2-sulfate, maintaining the homeostasis and normal physiological functions of the extracellular matrix. Although IDUA does not directly participate in signal transduction, its role in mucopolysaccharide metabolism may indirectly affect certain signaling pathways, such as altering cellular responses to external stimuli by influencing interactions between cell surface receptors and ligands as well as intercellular interactions. The deficiency of IDUA leads to mucopolysaccharidosis disorders, such as Mucopolysaccharidosis Type I (Hurler syndrome), highlighting the crucial role of IDUA in human health.

IHC image of CSB-PA011000LA01HU diluted at 1:300 and staining in paraffin-embedded human prostate cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
