IGF2BP2

IGF2BP2, also known as insulin - like growth factor 2 mRNA - binding protein 2, is a well - studied protein. It has aliases such as IMP2. Functionally, IGF2BP2 binds to specific mRNAs, regulating their stability, localization, and translation. It is involved in the Wnt/β - catenin signaling pathway, which plays a vital role in cell proliferation and differentiation.
IGF2BP2 has been linked to several diseases, including diabetes and cancer. In diabetes, it affects glucose metabolism. In cancer, it promotes tumor growth and metastasis. Currently, research is ongoing to develop drugs that can target IGF2BP2, aiming to disrupt its function and provide new treatment options for related diseases.
