LPA

LPA stands for Lysophosphatidic acid, a bioactive lipid mediator. It is also commonly known as 1-radyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phosphate. LPA exerts its effects through binding to G-protein-coupled receptors, leading to various cellular responses such as cell proliferation, migration, and survival.
LPA is involved in multiple signaling pathways, including the PI3K/Akt and MAPK pathways. Dysregulated LPA signaling is associated with several diseases, such as cancer, fibrosis, and neurodegenerative disorders. Currently, there are ongoing efforts in drug development to target the LPA signaling axis, with some compounds in pre - clinical and clinical trials.
