MAGEA2

Melanoma Antigen Family A, 2 (MAGEA2), commonly known as MAGE-2, is a cancer-testis (CT) antigen. Normally restricted to germline cells, it is aberrantly expressed in multiple malignancies. MAGEA2 regulates cell cycle progression and inhibits apoptosis by interacting with key molecules in the Wnt/β-catenin and PI3K/Akt signaling pathways, promoting tumor growth and metastasis.
MAGEA2 is closely associated with melanoma, lung, breast, and other solid tumors. As an immunotherapeutic target, MAGEA2-derived peptide vaccines have shown preclinical efficacy in inducing tumor-specific T-cell responses. Several early-phase clinical trials are exploring MAGEA2-targeted immunotherapies, including vaccines and CAR-T cells, for advanced cancers with MAGEA2 expression.
