MMP12

MMP12, Matrix Metallopeptidase 12, is an enzyme predominantly expressed by mature tissue macrophages and is part of the matrix metalloproteinase family. MMP12 is instrumental in the degradation of extracellular matrix components like type IV collagen, chondroitin sulfate, laminin, and plasminogen. MMP12 is implicated in tumor invasion and metastasis across various cancers, including nasopharyngeal carcinoma and colorectal cancer. It also plays a role in the pathogenesis of several lung diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, allergic asthma, emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis, and pulmonary infections. Moreover, MMP12 is associated with the progression and instability of atherosclerotic plaques, suggesting its involvement in atherosclerotic cerebral infarction and coronary heart disease. MMP12 enzyme is thus considered to have significant biological relevance and therapeutic potential in the research and treatment of these diseases.

IHC image of CSB-RA595609A0HU diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human breast cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4℃ overnight. The primary is detected by a Goat anti-rabbit IgG polymer labeled by HRP and visualized using 0.05% DAB.
