NAT10

NAT10 is a nuclear protein belonging to the GNAT family of acetyltransferases. It plays a multifaceted role in cellular processes, including RNA acetylation modification, ribosomal RNA biosynthesis, DNA damage repair, and mRNA stability maintenance. This protein functions by catalyzing acetylation modifications of both histones and non-histone proteins, and also by binding to RNA, thereby regulating RNA stability and translation efficiency. NAT10's involvement in cell cycle regulation, cell migration, tumor metastasis, DNA damage response, and cell aging is well-documented. Given that, NAT10 expression is linked to a variety of diseases, such as cancer, Hutchinson Gilford premature aging syndrome, and systemic lupus erythematosus, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target for these conditions .
