NTM

NTM, full name neurotrimin, also known as NTM neural cell adhesion molecule, is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored membrane protein. It mediates cell adhesion and regulates neuronal development, neurite outgrowth and neural network formation in the central nervous system.
Abnormal NTM expression is closely associated with neurological disorders, brain tumors and neuropsychiatric diseases. It also participates in tumor cell migration and invasion. At present, researches on NTM-targeted therapy remain in preclinical stage, and selective regulators are being developed for neurological diseases and malignant brain tumors.
