PADI2, or peptidylarginine deiminase 2, also known as PAD2, PDI2, or PAD-H19, is a calcium-dependent enzyme encoded by a human gene and primarily expressed in various tissues, with particularly high expression levels in the colon, brain, and other tissues. The mechanism of action of PADI2 involves catalyzing the post-translational deimination of proteins, converting arginine residues into citrulline, a process that occurs in the presence of calcium ions. PADI2 plays a role in the pathogenesis and progression of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease and multiple sclerosis, and is associated with the pathogenesis of glaucoma. PADI2 is also linked to the genetic susceptibility to various tumors, including breast cancer, making it a potential biomarker for cancer and a target for therapeutic intervention.

IHC image of CSB-PA896493YA01HU diluted at 1:300 and staining in paraffin-embedded human breast cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
Immunofluorescence staining of Hela cells with CSB-PA896493YA01HU at 1:100, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).
