Dysregulated PLET1 expression links to placental disorders (e.g., preeclampsia) and gestational trophoblastic neoplasms. In oncology, its overexpression in endometrial, ovarian, and colorectal cancers makes it a potential target. Ongoing research explores monoclonal antibodies and therapeutic vaccines against PLET1 to suppress tumor progression, with preclinical studies showing promising efficacy.
