Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 2 (TRPV2), also known as VRL1 (Vanilloid Receptor-Like 1), is a calcium-permeable non-selective cation channel in the TRPV subfamily. It is activated by noxious heat (>52°C), mechanical stress, or phospholipid ligands like PIP2, mediating calcium influx to trigger downstream pathways such as PI3K/Akt and MAPK, regulating cell proliferation and migration.
Dysregulated TRPV2 contributes to prostate cancer (enhancing invasion) and neurodegeneration (neuronal damage in Alzheimer’s). Preclinical research explores small-molecule modulators (agonists/inhibitors) for pain and cancer therapy, though no candidates have advanced to clinical trials.

Immunofluorescence staining of HepG2 cells with CSB-PA897571LA01HU at 1:266, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).
IHC image of CSB-PA897571LA01HU diluted at 1:800 and staining in paraffin-embedded human prostate tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
The following TRPV2 reagents supplied by CUSABIO are manufactured under a strict quality control system. Multiple applications have been validated and solid technical support is offered.
