UBAC2

UBAC2 is a protein that influences a range of cellular activities, from endoplasmic reticulum (ER) phagocytosis to the modulation of inflammatory responses and the promotion of tumor development. By interacting with GABARAP, UBAC2 regulates MARK2 phosphorylation, which in turn controls microtubule affinity, dimerization, and the selective degradation of ER components. It plays a role in curbing inflammation and acute ulcerative colitis through its effects on ER phagocytosis and is implicated in the genesis and progression of various tumors, notably bladder cancer. Disruptions in UBAC2 expression are linked to diseases such as Behcet's disease and skin cancer, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target and a prognostic factor.

IHC image of CSB-PA854093LA01HU diluted at 1:300 and staining in paraffin-embedded human colon cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
