WNT10A encodes Wnt family member 10A, a secreted glycoprotein with aliases including WNT10A_HUMAN. It functions as a ligand in the canonical Wnt/β-catenin pathway: binding to Frizzled receptors and LRP5/6 co-receptors stabilizes β-catenin, which translocates to the nucleus to regulate genes involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, and tissue patterning.
Dysregulation of WNT10A links to odontogenic defects (hypodontia, oligodontia), skin disorders (atopic dermatitis, psoriasis), and cancers (breast, colorectal). Direct WNT10A-targeted therapies are early-stage, but small-molecule modulators of Wnt signaling are under preclinical study for conditions like tooth regeneration and inflammatory skin diseases tied to its aberrant activity.
