Recent studies explore CANX inhibitors like Kifunensine derivatives to disrupt cancer cell ERAD-dependent survival, with preclinical candidates demonstrating enhanced chemosensitivity in multiple myeloma models. Paradoxically, CANX overexpression in glioblastoma exhibits tumor-suppressive effects, highlighting context-dependent therapeutic targeting challenges.
